We’re looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, a news junkie who is constantly on top of current events and a strong writer who can help us craft communications collateral, blog posts and other pieces that stand out in a crowd. 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The communications intern at Scott Circle Communications has the opportunity to work in a hybrid workplace on a variety of projects and learn from a team of award-winning public relations and communications professionals. The intern will work on communications strategies with various clients, including associations, nonprofits and advocacy organizations. Our mission-driven clients are focused on making a difference across areas, including healthcare, education, women’s rights and more.

Specific roles and responsibilities: 

  • Create targeted media lists for broadcast, radio, print and online outlets.

  • Assist with research for clients.

  • Assist in writing communications assets and press materials.

  • Assist with social media efforts.

  • Provide support for client projects and various administrative duties, as assigned.

Competencies and skills the position will be evaluated on include:

Detail-oriented, organized; collaboration/team-player; initiative; multitasking, eagerness to learn and develop professionally.

Qualifications: (i.e. Education, Certifications, Experience Level)

  • College student studying public relations, communications, journalism or a related field.

  • Internet Access for remote work, when not in the office (Mac computer proficiency preferred, but not required)

  • General computer knowledge of programs such as Slack, G Suite (Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.), Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Familiarity with Canva is a plus.

Compensation/Credit//Hours: 

  • Compensation: $20.00/hour

  • This internship can count toward college credit; though, of course, we would want to review the rules/qualifications with you.

  • Minimum of 20 hours per week.
